Charlie Ward

As a distinguished professional athlete, a coach for Florida State University, and a father of three—Charlie Ward knows what it takes to be a champion in the realms of sports, community, and family.

In college, Charlie was a stellar quarterback in football and an equally impressive point guard in basketball at Florida State University (FSU), earning him the Heisman Trophy, an award given in recognition for the most outstanding players in college football. After college, Charlie experienced a dynamic athletic career, playing for teams such as the New York Knicks and serving as the assistant coach for the Houston Rockets.

Today, Charlie funnels his sports and coaching expertise into students, serving as a full-time high school basketball coach at Florida State University High School in Tallahassee. Charlie’s life-long mission is to challenge people to embrace the arduous process that leads to success. Emboldened by this mission, Charlie and his wife, Tonja, went on to establish The Charlie and Tonja Ward Family Foundation, a foundation focusing on supporting disaster relief efforts and youth character development through sports and the arts. Come out on August 6 as Charlie Ward will challenge you with a game plan for success, inspiring productivity and a commitment to the habit of hard-won perseverance.

PRAYER WEEK

We invite you to join us for our annual week of prayer for our Escambia & Santa Rosa County schools. Prayer Week Challenge

One thing is for sure, prayer changes things. We know that the school system has many battles it is fighting. There are leadership obstacles, curriculum obstacles, ACLU obstacles, and so much more. Beyond that, our schools are full of students who, unbeknownst to them, are in the middle of a spiritual war for their lives and their futures. With everything the schools are fighting, we as Christians don’t believe the spiritual war should be one of them. We believe it is time that Christians unite together as we take a stand and pray for our students, faculty, and leadership in the public school system. I’m asking for you to join me as we Unite In Prayer to seek spiritual change and resource Christians to take action for tangible long-term impact in the lives of our students and staff in our public school system.
